Your images stay on your device

Every tool on PixelSpec, the resizer, the size reducer and the rest, runs in your browser using the canvas API. Files you open are read locally and are never uploaded to a server. Closing the tab discards them.

The YouTube thumbnail downloader

This tool points your browser at the public thumbnail images that YouTube already hosts. We do not receive, store or proxy the video link you paste.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you, and at the time of writing no analytics script runs on this site at all. If aggregate analytics are ever added, they will be a cookieless, privacy-preserving kind that records page views, approximate country and device type and nothing else, and this page will say so before it happens rather than after. We do not sell personal data, because we do not hold any.

Images are the important case. Every tool here runs in your browser using the canvas API. Your file is never uploaded, so it is never received, stored or seen, and nothing about it, not its name, its dimensions or a hash of its contents, is recorded anywhere.

Advertising

There are no ads on this site, and there are none planned. This section used to describe how third-party ad networks would behave once advertising was switched on, which meant the privacy policy documented something that did not exist. A policy that describes a hypothetical is not a policy.

If that decision is ever revisited, it will be written down here with a date before anything changes, and ads would never appear inside or above a tool. The reasoning is recorded in the repository under docs/beslissingen/2026-monetisatie.md.

Local storage

We store one small preference in your browser: your light or dark theme choice. It stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.
