About the Reddit community banner size

Reddit's Community Appearance settings ask for a banner of at least 1072 by 128 pixels on desktop and at least 1080 by 128 on mobile, uploaded as two separate images. Exporting one file at 1080 by 128 clears both minimums, and a 2x version at 2160 by 256 keeps it from looking soft on a high-density screen. If you have read that a Reddit banner is 1920 by 384 with a small, medium or large height option, that is the old new-Reddit styling tool, which Reddit has since retired; there are no height options in the current settings. The community icon and name overlay the lower-left of the banner, so keep any text or logo of your own centred or toward the right, and export as PNG for crisp text or JPG for a photo.

Quick tips

Frequently asked questions

What size is a Reddit banner?
At least 1072 by 128 pixels for the desktop banner and at least 1080 by 128 for the mobile banner, which are separate uploads. One 1080 by 128 file clears both, and 2160 by 256 is the same shape at 2x.
Is the Reddit banner still 1920x384?
No. 1920 by 384 with small, medium and large height options came from the new-Reddit styling tool, which has been retired. The current Community Appearance settings document a 1072 by 128 desktop minimum and a 1080 by 128 mobile minimum, with no height choice.
What aspect ratio is the Reddit community banner?
The Reddit community banner uses a 8.4:1 aspect ratio at 1080 by 128 pixels. 8.4:1 is the label the industry uses; dividing 1080 by 128 gives 8.4375, which reduces exactly to 135:16.

How this spec was checked

Platform sizes change without notice, so this entry records what it was verified against rather than stating a number and hoping it holds. Last checked July 27, 2026.

DocumentedReddit publishes this size itself, and the page it was read from is linked below.

Reddit's Community Appearance help documents a desktop banner of at least 1072 by 128 and a mobile banner of at least 1080 by 128, uploaded separately, with no height options. The 1920 by 384 'large / medium / small' heights this page carried until July 2026 belong to the retired new-Reddit styling tool. Reddit's help centre blocks automated fetches, so these figures were taken from the indexed text of that article rather than read live.
