About the Reddit avatar size
A Reddit avatar (separate from the customizable Snoo character builder) is best uploaded as a 256 by 256 pixel square, which Reddit then masks to a circle everywhere it appears. Uploading larger, 512 by 512 holds up well, gives Reddit more room to downscale cleanly across the many sizes it uses, from your profile page down to the small circle beside every comment. Because the corners are clipped by the circle, keep a face or logo centred with a little padding around it.
